Russell Crowe: Michael Jackson Prank Called Me for Years

In an interview with Guardian, the highest-paid actor in the world, Russell Crowe, spoke about Michael Jackson, defended his statement that Hollywood actresses should act their age, and the terrible 2001 Al-Qaida plot to kidnap him.

First he mentioned Michael Jackson and how it always amazed him how the singer knew in which hotel Crowe was. He used to make prank calls to him for years, with Crowe noting that a person is supposed to grow out of the behavior typical for ten-year-olds. “Is Mr. Wall there? Is Mrs. Wall there? Are there any Walls there? Then what's holding the roof up? Ha ha.” Such were pranks he received in hotels everywhere he went.

While this event in his life was, to say the least, bizarre, the incident in 2001 when Al-Qaida planned to seize him was downright intimidating. Crowe says that to this day he still does not know the details about this incident. He remembered arriving at a hotel in Los Angeles, as he did countless times before, and started unpacking, when a group of FBI men entered his room and wanted to talk to him. From that day onwards he was followed by 16 security agents and people were saying that he should get over himself, thinking he had them around on his own initiative. The tracking took place for two years, and then one day the agents were gone, says Crowe.

He defended his statement made to Australia's Women's Weekly when he said that “actresses should act their age”. Crowe mentioned himself as an example, saying he cannot act as gladiator anymore, simply because he does not have the physique to do it. Actresses in Hollywood eat right, exercise and undergo a series of cosmetic and surgical procedures and nobody argues they are not stunning. But whatever they do, they do not look 21 any more, said the actor.
